Windows and Shades
Eyes to the Soul
Big data has provided some unexpected advantages in the world of fashion. Fashion scientists at Fashion Institute of New Jersey have examined the relationship data between sunglass eyewear against other types of women fashion such as swimwear. They have developed a graphing of the size of the sunglass lens in this study in contrast to the size of the top part of a bikini swimsuit. The research team measured the vertical and horizontal dimension of sunglass lenses from the 1960s to today and performed a similar dimensional analysis of bikini tops, while also studying some of the more exotic stylistic variations in sunglasses. The comparison revealed that, as the sunglasses increased in size, the bikini top reduced in size. The report noted, that if the eyes are the window of the soul, then sunglasses are the inverse projection of covering the breast. And in fact, the study also revealed that the attractiveness of a woman’s face was enhanced by the sunglasses worn in an attraction preference sample testing of women’s images with and without sunglasses. The inverse relationship therefore can be seen in covering the eye and seeing more of the breast area.
Specific examples cited for comparison of sunglass types and biking types were the range of large sunglasses of Jackie Onassis, the small rectangular MOD sunglasses and the under-slung frames, as popularized by celebrities such as Sophia Loren that can be possibly linked to halter top bikinis.
